Inequality of Educational Opportunity and Time-Varying Circumstances: Longitudinal Evidence from Peru

This paper examines the extent to which characteristics that are beyond control of children affect their educational outcomes. is a matter particular interest because distribution opportunities will shape future outcomes in other realms. While time-invariant circumstances have already been examined inequality opportunity (IOp) literature, role time-varying has not yet addressed. For first time, this provides both lower and upper-bound estimates IOp on learning achievement assesses impact measures. It exploits very rich unusual longitudinal data set, Young Lives Study, focusing cohort followed for fifteen years, surveyed time when they were around year old. The results suggest sizable do major measures using panel data.
